PLAY makes no guarantees as to the number of teams / openings per team per sport and reserves the right, at its discretion and without notification, to end a sport or age division's registration before the final advertised day.  

We will often attempt to start a waiting list to mitigate closing registration early, however it is not always practical.  In the cases where PLAY closes registration early, it is often the result of limited field/court capacity, not enough coaches, management discretion or to prevent overloading teams with too many players and causing playing time issues.  Registering last minute or at the end of the registration period is at the risk of the parent/participant. 

Refund Policy: We recognize that, from time to time, players may need to withdraw from a sport due to unforeseen circumstances.  Registration fees are based on a variety of costs determined by the total number of teams and number of players registered on each team.  Because many of these costs must be paid in advance, player withdrawals still result in a cost to PLAY. As such, we have adopted the following policy for refunds to accommodate people whose plans have changed while maintaining the financial responsibilities associated with each sports season: $30 processing fee deducted from all refunds

**  100%: Before Rosters Finalize (i.e. during open registration)   
**  0%: When a team/age division is full but registration for other teams/ages is ongoing (unless we get a replacement before registration closes)   
**  0%: after registration closes

2026 Fall Tackle Football

Welcome to PLAY Patriots Tackle Football. PLAY will field teams in 8U, 10U, and 12U age divisions. Registration will be open until teams are full in their respective age division or until registration ends, whichever comes first. Teams may fill up before the actual registration end date so please don't hesitate to register. There are no guaranteed openings if teams are full or for late registrations. 

Season Schedule:
Late July - Summer Conditioning Starts
August - Full Pad Practice Starts
August - October - Play Games 

The Age Divisions are based on the player's age as of September 1, 2026. For example, if the player is 10 on September 1 they are eligible to play in the 10U division even if they have their 11th birthday on September 2.

2026 PLAY Sideline Cheer

Thank you for your interest in PLAY sideline cheer! It is a growing program and we are so excited for this coming season!

Registration for sideline cheer is open based on rising grade: 8U (rising 1-2nd), 10U (rising 3rd) and 12U (rising 4th-7th). Registration will be open until teams are full in their respective age division or until registration ends on May 10th, whichever comes first. Teams may fill up before the actual registration end date, so please don't hesitate to register. If there is no 8U football team this year, the 8U cheerleaders will cheer at the 10U football games.

The fee for sideline cheer is $55. Sideline includes: 
- poms, red bow, and trophy
- 6-8 practices in July/August before football games start mid-August 
- learning basic motions + cheers + sideline dances 
- cheering at 7-8 football games (normally Monday or Tuesday nights), a Saturday homecoming game, and playoff games
- halftime dance  
- will NOT include stunting
*please note, the tackle schedule will not be released until early August. 

***If your cheerleader has not cheered before or needs a new uniform for this season, please be sure to add and pay the UNIFORM FEE during registration. The cost of the uniform is $115, which includes uniform top, skirt, and briefs. We will have uniform fittings with our representative from Varsity Spirit on May 19th at 6:00 pm (8U). 6:30 pm (10U) or 7-8 pm (12U), PVMS cafeteria. If your child is only doing sideline cheer (not competitions- see below) and you would like to purchase a long-sleeve liner for the colder games, these will be available to order at the uniform fittings. We are using the same uniform as last season.

Sideline practices will begin late July (twice a week) and the practice schedules will be communicated by the coaches over the summer. Football games typically begin mid-August, at which time practices will stop for sideline cheer.

NEW THIS YEAR:
*Competitions- Girls who register for sideline will be offered the OPTION to participate in competitions (all girls who do competitions must also participate in sideline cheer). While this is totally optional, we are asking for a solid commitment upfront. If your child would like to participate, there will be an additional fee of $45 that will cover the cost of a competition bow and a navy long-sleeve liner. Please be sure to also add this COMPETITION FEE during registration. You will be committing to one mandatory practice per week (likely Thursday evenings) mid-August until the competitions are complete sometime in October/November. These practices will be used to learn the competition routine (performed on a cheer mat in a gym), which will incorporate a cheer, a dance, stunting, and tumbling. You will be committing to 3-5 competitions (will vary by team, but max 3 for the 8u team). Competitions (dates TBD) are held in various upstate gyms, normally on Thursday evenings, and are $5 per spectator to enter. These were previously know as our "exhibitions," but we will call them “competitions” now because this year the teams will be awarded 1st place, 2nd place, etc awards. 

*All-Star- Our all-star team is a try-out only team of max 24 girls. This season, rising 4-7th grade girls may try out for the all-star team- they will need to register for the 12U sideline team during registration. If your child plans to try out for the all-star team, please do NOT add the competition fee during registration (will settle after tryouts). All 12u-age girls will sign-up for the 12U sideline team during registration, and then we will shift the girls that make the all-star team to be a separate sideline team. Tryouts will be May 11th and 12th, 5:30-7:30 in the PVMS cafeteria. More details in your registration confirmation notes.
