Why PLAY & Our Impact:
Powdersville is growing rapidly and there are >1500 kids in our target demographic that need a safe and fun environment to compete. We aspire to create one of, if not THE, premier youth sports leagues in the Upstate. Why PLAY, because we want our children to not only be successful on the field, but WIN AT THE GAME OF LIFE. We will focus on teaching not only the fundamentals of each sport, but through sports instill commitment, teamwork, effort, coachability, courage, confidence, and hard work so that they’ll have a solid footing to be successful in life and positive contributors in our community. Powdersville Pride is not just a catchy slogan, but is truly evident in our community and this will be our mantra on and off the field!
Why Youth Sports:
Numerous National Studies have determined Youth Sports:
-
make communities desirable places to live, work, play, and visit, thereby contributing to the ongoing economic vitality of communities throughout our country. In our case, we will help drive increased growth in Powdersville.
-
combats the national obesity epidemic through the development of healthy lifestyles, strong minds, and fit bodies.
-
Youths who participate in structured recreational activities have reduced rates of criminal activity (statistically shown to be by as much as 71%), antisocial behavior and increased success in post-secondary education.
-
provide safe, developmental opportunities for latch-key youths, who have reduced prospects for physical activity and socialization because of a lack of parental supervision.
-
decreases the use of emergency services (medical, child welfare, police, fire and so on) and increased proactive use of health promotional services result in lower costs to the taxpayer.
-
Youth Sports programs help our youth develop into contributing members of our communities.
